Your written quote should specify tests, documentation, exclusions, any remedial work and IVA treatment before you accept.
Electrical repairs & fault finding
Tripping breakers, intermittent power loss and circuits that will not reset need diagnosis rather than repeated resetting. Tell us which circuits are affected and when the problem happens.
The investigation may include circuit tracing, insulation checks, load assessment and checking connections. Repairs are scoped after identifying the cause.
Consumer unit replacement
An older distribution board may need replacement when protection is inadequate, circuits are being added or the installation is being renovated. A new board must suit the existing wiring and supply.
Review circuit identification, RCD/RCBO protection, surge protection, earthing and capacity. The quote should specify the board, protective devices and testing.
Electrical inspection & testing
An inspection helps establish the condition of an installation before a purchase, renovation or new electrical load. The scope depends on the property and accessible circuits.
Discuss visual checks, earthing, protective devices, insulation, RCD operation and a report of findings. Ask which tests and documentation are included.
Boletín / CIE certificate
The Certificado de Instalación Eléctrica (CIE), often called a boletín, records the characteristics of an electrical installation. Your supplier or distributor can confirm whether it is needed for your specific connection or power change.
Share the supplier's request and any existing certificate. Inspection, any necessary remedial work and the applicable Andalucía registration process must be assessed before a certificate can be issued.
Full or partial rewiring
Full and partial rewiring can address deteriorated wiring, insufficient circuits or a property's changing use. The right scope follows an assessment, not the age of a property alone.
Plan routes, sockets, lighting, dedicated circuits, temporary power and making-good responsibilities. Agree testing and documentation before work starts.
Villa electrical project
Villa renovations need a coordinated electrical plan for living spaces, external lighting, gates, pool plant and future energy upgrades. We discuss the scope with owners, property managers and refurbishment teams.
Review distribution boards, circuit capacity, outdoor equipment, access arrangements and the sequence of works.
Surge protection & earthing
Surge protection and effective earthing should be considered together, especially when adding solar, EV charging or sensitive electronics.
Assess supply type, existing protective devices, earthing arrangement and equipment requirements before selecting protection.
Pool electrical safety
Pool areas combine electricity, water and outdoor exposure. Changes to pumps, lighting or heating should include a review of the electrical installation.
Discuss bonding, earthing, RCD protection, isolation and equipment suitability. Specialist pool heating and HVAC enquiries go to Agua Therm.
Supply & three-phase upgrades
New supply connections, power increases and single-to-three-phase changes depend on the installation and the distributor's requirements. LIT can discuss the electrical work needed.
Provide your current contracted power, proposed loads and supplier correspondence. Utility fees, approvals and timings must be confirmed separately.
Electrical risk assessment
Loose connections, overloads and deteriorated components need assessment. Discuss suitable checks and the report your insurer needs, rather than assuming an inspection meets every requirement.
Electrical infrastructure & energy

Frequently asked questions
How much do electrical inspections, CIE certificates and consumer units cost?
Request an individual written quotation. It should identify the inspection or installation scope, tests, documentation, exclusions, any remedial work and IVA treatment. A certificate does not include unspecified repairs.
Does every property sale require a new boletín?
Not automatically. Requirements depend on the existing installation, certificate and the specific supply or administrative request. Check with the relevant supplier, distributor or authority before commissioning a certificate.
What is REBT and how does TECI relate to a certificate?
REBT is Spain's low-voltage electrical regulation under Royal Decree 842/2002. TECI is an Andalucía electronic processing system for applicable installation documentation. The appropriate documentation and procedure depend on the work; registration is not a substitute for inspection or necessary remedial work.
How long will rewiring or an upgrade take?
This depends on circuit count, access, occupancy and finishes. Share plans and photos, then agree a work sequence and the expected power interruptions as part of the quotation.
Can you assess a villa before adding solar or an EV charger?
Ask about a review of supply capacity, distribution boards, protective devices and cable routes. Solar, battery and EV proposals should account for the property's existing electrical infrastructure.
What should I do if there is an immediate electrical danger?
Keep clear of damaged equipment. Do not repeatedly reset a tripping circuit or touch exposed wiring. For fire or immediate danger, call 112. Contact the electrical team to discuss availability; a response time is not guaranteed.
